Green Web Awards 2009: get nominating!
Tuesday, October 27th, 2009 by NigelI’ve just been putting the final touches on our second Green Web Awards, to celebrate the best green websites, blogs and social media of 2009.
Last year we asked some of the web’s leading environmental bloggers and social media users to name their favourite green sites in twelve categories. We wanted to celebrate the best and worst of the green web. You can see the award winners here.
This year, following some great feedback on this blog, we’ve made the awards a tad more democratic!
This time, anybody can nominate a green website, green blog, green tweeter or facebook-er, including your own, in any category, and unlike many other awards, there is absolutely no charge at all, for anything.
Our panel of green experts - who include Caroline Lucas MEP, Ed Gillespie, Timothy Latz and Andy Hobsbawm - will then draw up a short-list of nominated sites in each category, based on two criteria: the volume of nominations received for each entry, and their personal opinion and expertise.
Unlike last time, no expert will be asked to adjudicate on a site or activity in which they have any personal interest.
We’ll then be asking you, the public, to vote on your favourites from the short-list, and we’ll announce the winners in January 2010.
You asked for it. You’ll be deciding. So start nominating!
