More on the Green Web Awards…

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008 by Nigel

Well, that was worth doing.

I’m glad to see that the winners received the publicity they deserved. Yes, even Barbie, our choice for the most cynical example of greenwashing.

I’d just like to take a second to thank the people who made the Green Web Awards work - particularly the judges, who worked so hard to make the choices they did; they are an inspirational bunch. I give you, in no particular order, Bonnie Alter of Treehugger, Anna Sheppard, AKA EcoWorrier of the TimesOnline, Tracy Stokes from EcoStreet, biologist and Digg-er Mahesh Basantani of Inhabitat, Accidental EcoManiac Miranda Newsom, Adam Williams of Life Goggles, Racheblue from EcoMonkey, Ed Gillespie from Futerra, Abi Silverster of Hippyshopper, Adam Vaughan of SmartPlanet, Steve Allen from The Big Green Switch, Kate Fewings of Ethical Weddings, web expert Mark Johnson, Lisa Jackson and Ketan Majmudar of Ethical Junction, Monica Srivastava from Do The Green Thing, Joanna Yarrow of Beyond Green and Mark Harris, tech writer for the Metro newspaper. Not too shabby a selection of experts, I think you’ll agree.

None of this could have happened without the brilliant work behind the scenes by Worth Media. A big thanks from me to them.
