The only way to break the cycle of hatred (excuse the pun!) is to refuse to be a link in the chain (ditto!)

The bottom of West Street has been closed off for ages, dunno why! That photo was to show the eccentric misuse of an expensive bike lane sign kit by someone artistically impaired! The general problem is that cycle lanes in Brighton either steal land from the pavement, as in the seafront lane, or from the road, so cyclists are hated by pedestrians and motorists!

Not quite fair is it, as obviously the whole road was closed off not just the cycle lane!

As for the cycle lane on the sea front, it's hard to think of a better solution, short of building flyovers for pedestrians and/or bikes. I think it's just a matter of everyone respecting each other's right to exist and accepting that everyone makes mistakes. After all, even cyclists are sometimes pedestrians, and vice versa. I cycle to get away from the madness of cars, so please don't go bringing road rage to our cycle lanes!

So, actually, I agree with you!
