Keeping yourself clean and green…
Friday, June 29th, 2007 by NigelI’ve been trying the navy shower technique.
There’s a flaw. The trouble is, I’ve got a demand water heater. Every time you switch off the shower it comes back on freezing. That’s OK in June, but you’ll be able to hear my screams in Worthing come December.
While on the bathroom topic, I notice Tracey Stokes at Eco Street has done a fine piece on how to make the rest of my bathroom activities greener… In recent months I’ve managed to source a pretty decent range of ethically sound bathroom stuff to sell - including these recycled razor blades which are great value. The amount of toxins we seem happy to pour down our toilet these days is astonishing when there are safer alternatives. Tracey also suggests ditching most cleaners for home-made alternatives. My own top tip for cleaning mirrors (and any other glass for that matter)? A drop of vinegar in water. Wipe on glass with cloth. Dry until all the smears are 100% gone with rolled up bits of newspaper. Works a treat, I promise.
