Smiling
Thursday, June 21st, 2007 by Nigel
Today’s mood is lighthearted.
Q. How many ecologists does it take to change a lightbulb?
A. Four. One to change the bulb and three to write the environmental impact statement.
Rimshot...
Sigh.
This article that appeared yesterday on the green site Grist also raised a tiny smile. It’s foolish for anyone who runs both an eco-store and an eco-blog to point to an article which derides the current omipresence of the prefix “eco”, but this is a nice riff on anything from eco-porn to, well, ecosexuality.
An ecosexual is, apparently, a hip young urbanite who cares more about recycling than hair products.
Oh, is that all?
In that case, guilty as charged, m’lud.
As a penance, I offer this Dramatic Chipmunk video which has nothing at all to do with “eco”, but is much, much funnier than the above joke about ecologists.
Finally, looking at the weather forecast, I also have a smile on my face about not going to Glastonbury this year.
I’d suggest campers get one of these natty devices to charge their phones and iPods… or these… They work best in full sunshine, though, which is something will be as rare as a clean welly in Somerset over the next few days apparently… but you’ll still get a trickle charge, even when it’s cloudy. The trick is to leave the solar charger out as long as possible - hopefully all day - to charge its internal battery before you try and plug your device into it.
