World without cars

I just heard that Nigel’s Eco Store is being nominated for an Eco Award as Best Online Retailer by Real Homes magazine. That’s nice. I think I’m getting there. All feedback gratefully received.

I also just had as charming a comment as you can get from someone who’s taking me to task over my blog. The subject was my haughty response to Katie Rogers’ movie Carless in LA. I had been just a teensy bit cynical about whether giving up a car for 80 days was that much of a sacrifice. Drew Falkman, the movie’s co-producer reminds me that Katie’s commute after giving up her car was at least two hours. Each way.

OK. My carless commute is perhaps not quite as taxing. Sometimes it takes me ten minutes - if I stop at the newsagent’s. I wish them the best of luck with it.
