Car-less in LA

Katie Rogers seems like a nice woman. She lives in LA. She decided to give up owning a car. Of course, this being LA, she also decided to make a movie about it, trading in her vehicle for a video camera. She completed the task early this year and is looking for ways to plug her movie. There’s a trailer on her site, Carless In LA.
I’m carless in Brighton, myself. I haven’t yet made a movie about it (though I am on the side of a bus).
OK, OK, I’m sure it’s harder to be carless in LA but LA’s dirty secret is that public transport is actually not that bad: it’s mainly a middle-class fear of giving up their cars and having to - ugh - mingle that stops most people figuring that out. There are taxis, too.
Now I feel bad, saying that. It’s probably a good film. I haven’t seen it yet; it’s not due till next year. Just because she looks like she’s jumping onto the Morgan Spurlock bandwaggon, doesn’t mean it’s not a provocative, interesting, worthwhile movie that can help wean California off its oil addiction. I wouldn’t like to cycle in LA. I’ve seen the way they drive there.
I gather the first thing Katie did after the 80 days was get back into a car.
