This pretty tea light holder is made from recycled glass with a crackled silver lining that glows with a golden light when illuminated with a tea light.

Beautifully hand made in a fair trade cooperative in India, these shabby chic tea light holders (also known as votive candles) would make a great eco wedding centrepiece, dinner party table decoration, or help create a relaxing atmosphere for your bedroom.

  • Glass is totally recyclable, and can be recycled infinitely without any loss of quality.
  • Although the raw materials that make up glass are not in short supply (sand, soda ash and limestone), they need to be quarried which uses energy and can affect natural habitats.
  • Recycled glass uses half the energy needed to manufacture new glass. Production of new glass uses a lot of energy, through transportation of materials and the energy needed to heat them to a very high temperature.
