The activated carbon filter removes all volatile organic chemicals (VOC), pesticides and herbicides, as well as chlorine, benzene, trihalomethane (THM) compounds, radon, solvents and hundreds of other man-made chemicals found in tap water. (It doesn't remove flouride.)

The filter lasts up to 6 months then you start to notice that it needs to be replaced, equivalent to 250 refills.
