Public Relations and Marketing - Internship

Just over 4 years old, and based at Poets Corner in Hove. We sell low carbon and environmentally friendly products via our website.

We’re a small and determined team - and anyone joining has a unique opportunity to take on real responsibility and gain valuable hands-on experience within PR and marketing.

The role:
We are looking for someone to assist the PR and Marketing Team in drafting product based press releases, undertaking editorial research, helping to manage and update Nigel's Eco Store press calendar, with a view to generating increased sales and promote Nigel's Eco Store branding nationally and internationally. This will also involve discrete PR projects to be researched and executed cradle to grave, with guidance from the PR Manager.

You will work closely with the team responsible for Marketing and PR.

Over three months, you will learn about:

how a small business operates

the process of PR planning, execution and measurement

the different roles of the marketing mix

editorial and copy writing

means to create PR and marketing campaigns nationally and internationally

Skills needed:

Graduate or post-graduate

Ability to offer one day per week for 3 months on a Friday

Self starter willing to hit the ground running and act on own initiative

Forward planner with desire to give creative and entrepreneurial input

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Intermediate IT and design literacy

Allowance:

This is an unpaid internship but we will cover reasonable travel expenses.

A work log with written feedback will be created over the course of the internship with a view to creating new skills and transferrable experience.

A reference will be supplied at the end of the term with support and feedback to assist with job applications.
