Celebrate Fairtrade fortnight with Nigel's Eco Store![]() It's Fairtrade fortnight from 25th February to 9th March, so why not support the cause and purchase some Fairtrade goodies? The Fairtrade mark is an independent consumer label that appears on products as a guarantee that disadvantaged producers in the developing world are getting a better deal. Today, more than 7 million people across 58 developing countries benefit from the international Fairtrade system. Producer organisations that supply Fairtrade products are inspected and certified by FLO. They receive a minimum price that covers the cost of sustainable production and an extra premium that is invested in social or economic development projects. All very good reasons why you should get behind the movement and support Fairtrade fortnight. And while you're at it, why not check out our selection of Fairtrade products: we don't have a massive fairtrade range, but we've got silky hemp knickers packaged in a pretty Fairtrade box, recycled juice carton coasters, yoga wear and recycled juice pack aprons to choose from, all of them produced according to Fair Trade principles. | ||
