£25.52 inc. VAT

Get a living Christmas tree sapling this Christmas, and keep it for life - a more sustainable option. This one, the Scots Pine tree is native to Scotland and is a favourite with many families at Christmas. Pine was once known as the 'Sweetest of the Woods' and was said to symbolise fertility. This Little Lady can grow to around 36m after 10 years although will keep nicely in a pot for the first 2-3 years.

Makes a great gift and comes with full care instructions.

  • Tree supplied is 20-40cm tall.
  • The juvenile fully branched narrow outline alters as a maturing tree loses its lower branches and forms a flatter spreading crown.
  • Rising to 120ft (36m).
  • A native of the once extensive Caledonian pine forests the Scots Pine with its characteristic craggy bark, pink in colour at the top of the tree, still graces Highland lochs and mountains. Paired needles are usually twisted and shorter than those of most pines.
  • Cones nearest the branch tips were fertilised in the previous spring; cones below are two year old maturing; the lowest cones are three years old and ripe.
  • Grown in the UK.
  • Like all trees, will take several years to grow to full height

In case you were wondering, real Christmas trees are more eco friendly than artificial ones. Real trees are carbon neutral, absorbing as much carbon dioxide as they grow as they will emit when burnt or left to decompose.

Although artificial trees last for many years they are made from metal and derivatives of PVC, which requires large amounts of energy to make, and also creates by-products such as lead which can be harmful to both the environment and human health. The average life of an artificial tree is just 6 years and given that they are not naturally biodegradable they will potentially pollute a landfill site for many years to come.

Unfortunately our trees cannot be delivered to addresses outside the UK and Ireland at present.

Height: 200-400mm, width: 80-150cm, packaging: 640 x 63.5 x 1.5mm
