"We were very pleased with the performance - they make a noticeable difference to radiator performance."Andrew, zapcarbon.com
Heatkeeper panels work:Without them, some of the heat from a radiator is wasted on heating the wall behind it. This heat seeps through the wall and goes outside. When you fit the panels, the wall behind the radiator is insulated and the heat from the back of the radiator is directed back into the room.
Also, without radiator panels, heated air from behind the radiator rises up the wall and then spreads out across the ceiling first. The shape of the Heatkeeper panels stops the air rising so much, and directs warm air back into the room.
Fitting:Following the instructions supplied and the cutting guides on the panel itself, HEATKEEPER Energy Saving Radiator Panels can easily be adapted to most radiator types and sizes with a pair of common household scissors.
It takes 2 - 2½ panels to cover a typical radiator. For radiators with greater heights than the panels, join additional sections as appropriate by taping one edge and overlapping the other segment edge. For example in the case of a 700mm high radiator you can use a full panel plus horizontal section taken from another panel to give a height of 680mm.
They are not themselves damaged by water, but the metallising may be impaired if stored in wet conditions.
It is not normally necessary to remove radiators in order to fix the panels, though walls should be free of dust. The panels are fixed to the wall with double-sided tape (supplied).
For smaller or shorter radiators, try
Heatkeeper Mini Panels, which can be adjusted to fit non-typical radiators.
