It's much easier to light than imported briquettes: you don't need firelighters - you use the bag to help light it, so there are no bad fumes. You'll also need less charcoal.

Charcoal is also available in 6kg bags.

90% of the UK's charcoal is imported from abroad, whereas this eco friendly charcoal is made in the UK, from a sustainable coppiced resource on the South Downs in Sussex, so it does not have to be flown or shipped around the world (saving transport miles).

South Downs charcoal helps protect woodland through ongoing woodland management, and it has been used by our ancestors for over 6,000 years.

Burning wood or charcoal is pretty much carbon neutral.

Please note: South Downs Charcoal has to be handled with a bit more care as it breaks easily.
